Dr. Joe Martin, PT, DPT, OCS is a combat veteran of the US armed forces serving tours in Saudi Arabia and Iraq and a remarkably successful entrepreneur with 3 decades of business experience in the field of Physical Therapy, Fitness, and Metabolic Health. The skills he learned and developed as a soldier served him well in his various business ventures throughout his career. Joe is a Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist and an expert Physical Therapist of 28+ years, earning his Doctorate from Upstate Medical University in Syracuse NY.

 

Joe engaged in his first career challenge in 1998 with less than a year out of school.  He took an interesting leadership role for a company and was tasked with reviving an underperforming interdisciplinary medical center in the state of Michigan. Within one year he had accomplished his goal and achieved the prestigious award of Physical Therapist of the year for the entire state of Michigan for this roughly $800 million dollar company. Outside of his time relentlessly pursuing the growth of his clinic joe found time to invent, develop, and mass produce a rehabilitation product that he sold all over the US and in Hong Kong (LINK see free e-book about this invention). His largest customer was the $800 million dollar company he worked for because he ingeniously created a product based on their treatment philosophy and an unsatisfied need.

 

Joe ventured into another Clinical Manager position for 2 years before opening his own private practice in 2002. Over the span of 21 years, he opened and operated 8 outpatient Physical Therapy clinics (7 in NY and 1 in FL), developed and produced his own 30-minute television show (Therapy TV) and produced and hosted many PT and Fitness DVDs. He has conducted live educational seminars to the public and has mentored resident Physicians in Musculoskeletal differential diagnosis. Joe has tremendous experience and wisdom with regards to private practice startups, business model disruption, and revenue generation.

Joe is passionate about coaching and teaching other Physical Therapists how to be successful in private practice and is still a part-time, licensed and practicing clinician in New York and Florida in his own practices.
